In Clayface (2026), director James Watkins transforms a DC Comics villain into a surprisingly human antihero whose extraordinary powers emerge from violence and social rejection. Combining body horror, science fiction, and superhero mythology, the film explores identity, revenge, and the ability to become someone else. Despite convincing performances and an imaginative premise, its predictable screenplay offers few genuine surprises.
